Knitting with a purpose

Oswego resident Jeannine East,  Paulette Brown of Waterman, and NIU english major Justina Clayburn are helping knit scarves for those in need.

The Giving Project is a volunteer based group who knit cold weather accessories like scarves and hats for the less fortunate. In coordination with Huskie Pantry, the items made during the project are donated and given to NIU students in need. The group is accepting donations of yarn (acrylic and cotton), crochet hooks and knitting needles. No experience is necessary to attend, their will always be an instructor present to help. The group meets on Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Holmes Student Center Glidden Room.
