Mesh pumpkin Halloween DIY
October 16, 2017
Pumpkin decorations dominate decor when it comes to Halloween, but they often lack a personal touch. Here is a simple and easy way to make small, personalized mesh pumpkins to spice up any living space this October.
Materials:
• Latex balloons
• Mesh fabric
• White glue
• Orange, green and black paint
• Paint brushes
• Scissors
• Newspaper
Steps:
1. Lay down newspaper or paper towels to cover the entire work area to avoid making a mess.
2. Blow up the latex balloons to desired size of the pumpkins.
3. Take the mesh fabric and cover the balloons completely. Cut the mesh down to size if necessary and make sure the fabric covers the tie of the balloon as this will become the stem of the pumpkin.
4. Use one of the paint brushes and brush white glue over the entire balloon and mesh covering.
5. Once the glue is dry, gently pop the balloon and pull it out by the tie. The mesh will hold the shape of the balloon.
6. Using another paint brush, coat the round part of the mesh in orange paint to create the base.
7. Paint the part of the mesh that was around the tie green or brown to create a stem.
8. Paint on any other design such as vines or a black face to create a jack-o-lantern.
Once dry, this small project will add a cute touch to any spooky Halloween decor already haunting the halls.
