Bears need to step up their game

The Chicago Bears won their second game of the season in overtime by a score of 27-24 after blowing the lead once again in the fourth quarter, but that’s not really much of a surprise.

Chicago’s prize position rookie Mitch Trubisky was wrapped tightly in bubble wrap again, as he only got a chance to throw the ball 16 times where he completed half of those for a total of 113 yards with a touchdown.

“It’s not exactly how we drew it up,” said Mitch Trubisky, according to an October article by Adam Jahns.

No kidding! The Bears gave up multiple picks for the rookie and traded up a spot in the draft, and in his second start Bears fans still don’t know what they have.

I get slowly working his way in to get a better feel for the NFL, but my goodness the Bears ran the ball 50 times on Sunday afternoon in Baltimore. 50!

Pro Bowl guard Kyle Long referred to the term “absolutely gassed” when talking about the play calling choice from the offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains.

If the Bears want to eventually win a game in four quarters and not go into overtime, they will need to turn baby steps into leaps with their 23-year old rookie.

Not every game will consist of a seasoned quarterback who still doesn’t know how to throw to his own guys, in Joe Flacco committing his usual two turnovers.

The Bears will look to obtain their third win next week against the Carolina Panthers at 12 p.m. Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago.
