Third firearm incident this week, suspects still not captured

DeKALB | NIU Police Department officials responded to reports of shots fired at the 800 block of Russell Road Saturday evening, making for the third incident involving firearms this past week.
No reported injuries resulted from the incident, to which police responded at about 11:15 p.m. One suspect seen with a firearm was accompanied by two other suspects when fleeing the scene toward the northeast, according to an Oct. 1 Safety Bulletin.
All three suspects were described as dark-skinned males. One was described as being between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt and jeans; another was described as tall and skinny wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt; and the third was described as short, wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
NIU and DeKalb Police Department officials are still investigating the incident.
