Civil rights activists returns to NIU

The Rev. Jesse Jackson was welcomed by students, administrators and faculty of NIU inside the Sandburg Auditorium on Tuesday. Jackson brought emphasis in saying, “This land is our land, it was made for all of us”. This message carried through the entire day as the exhibit touched on many social injustices, current events and politics.

Jesse Jackson returns to NIU Tuesday after nine years. The civil rights activist and political figure welcomed in the traveling exhibit, “Quilts and Human Rights”. The event kicked off in the Sandburg Auditorium and concluded in Cole Hall. The exhibit aims at informing viewers on current international events and paying tribute to those who paved the way for human rights activism.
