Mission, NIU’s beloved live mascot, is the icon of NIU. You can read more about him here (link to mission story). Mission; however, is not the only dog to represent an entire school. Here are a few other nearby puppers that have big college fan-followings. 

Side note: I’m not sure why they’re mostly bulldogs. In my opinion it’s just because who doesn’t love a few fat rolls?
