History of the week: Train breaks down in DeKalb

By Northern Star staff

DeKALB – Five years ago a train blocked traffic in downtown DeKalb for four hours.

The stopped train sat across railroad crossings at First, Second, Third, Fourth, Sixth and Tenth streets, according to a Feb. 1, 2012 Northern Star article.

Broken couplings kept the train from moving from 6 to 9:45 a.m.
