History of the week: Store to get liquor license
February 15, 2017
DeKALB | Twelve years ago, Inboden’s Meats, 1106 N. First Street, was granted a liquor license to sell wine and packaged beer.
According to a Feb. 15, 2005, Northern Star article, “The DeKalb City Council passed the amendment unanimously.”
The license granted to Inboden’s Meats was limited to only their specialty grocery store. The store had to be licensed at a meat establishment by the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Six years later, the Northern Star discovered how the meat vendor began its business in DeKalb.
