Volcano discussion erupts at Fatty’s Pub and Grille

DeKALB | STEM Café will bring volcanism to DeKalb through a night of volcano facts.
A discussion will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fatty’s Pub and Grille, 1312 W. Lincoln Highway, for anyone who wishes to attend.
Dr. Jim Walker, NIU’s Department of Geology and Environmental Geosciences volcanologist, will talk about eruptions, predict volcanism and discuss the effects on environment.
Mike Mullin, author of the Ashfall novel series, will discuss how he used science to write the science fiction novel. Ashfall follows characters dealing with the eruption aftermath of Yellowstone National Park’s supervolcano.
