DeKALB | The women’s volleyball team is coming off its first loss since Sept. 10 when it lost to University of Washington.

The Huskies (19-5, 11-1 Mid-American Conference) lost in straight sets to Miami University Saturday in Oxford, Ohio, but return home this weekend for the first time in three weeks to play two matches.

Playing on the road has not interfered with the Huskies’ success as they’ve gone 7-2 away from Victor E. Court and 4-2 on neutral sites this season.

Eastern Michigan University

The Huskies, 8-1 at home this season, will look to continue their Victor E. Court dominance when they face Eastern Michigan University 7 p.m. Friday.

Eastern Michigan is currently fifth out of six MAC-West divisional opponents with an 8-17 overall record and a 3-9 conference record.

NIU defeated Eastern Michigan in straight sets on Oct. 1 (25-15, 25-18, 25-19) in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

The Huskies haven’t lost a regular season set to Eastern Michigan since Nov. 15, 2014, when Eastern defeated NIU in five sets, 3-2, but NIU has since won nine consecutive sets, or three games.

Central Michigan University

The second match of the weekend will be 7 p.m. Saturday against Central Michigan University at Victor E. Court.

The team will be honoring its six seniors on the team: defensive setter Paige Dacanay, defensive setter Malia Gabel, rightside hitter Bri Horwath, outside hitter Mary Grace Kelly, middle blocker Jenna Radtke and middle blocker Lauren Zielinski prior to Saturday’s match.

Many of these players have done great things for the team over their Huskie career, including an All-MAC honor for Radtke in 2015. Radtke became the third consecutive Huskie to win MAC-West Player of the Week honor.

These are the last home matches of the regular season before the MAC tournament begins Nov. 17 on Victor E. Court.

Friday and Saturday’s matches can be streamed on ESPN3.
