DeKALB | Various NIU organizations have put together a rally to promote unity after the 2016 elections.

The rally will run from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the MLK Commons and all are invited to attend.

During the rally, there will be a table for people to write letters to Trump, state representatives, and senators about any concerns they feel.

Some guest speakers include Gabe Sonntag from United By Diversity, Traci Jennings from Black Student Union, Alex Forgue from PRISM, Ellie Evins and Melissa Czechowski from the Women’s Right Alliance.

Speakers will offer resources to assist people in responding to fears positively and peacefully.

Additionally, an open mic will encourage students to speak for three minutes. Everyone is welcome to speak, sing, present a poem or perform spoken word.
