A physical therapist with special interest in female athletes, Samantha Eakes, will be giving an informative discussion about the different orthopedic and tissue-based challenges female athletes face.

Eakes will talk about common injuries at different stages of an athlete’s life and safe ways to prevent them 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the DeKalb Public Library, Zimmerman Meeting Room.

Her goal is to help female athletes reach their highest potential by being aware of physical differences.

The free event is intended for adults.
