History of the week: New dress codes implemented at select DeKalb bars anger bar goers
October 12, 2016
Nine years ago today, a few bars in DeKalb implemented dress codes that angered bar goers, according to an Oct. 12, 2007 Northern Star article.
Molly’s Eatery and Drinkery, 1022 W. Lincoln Highway, had posted a strict dress code, barring hoodies, do-rags, hats/caps, all baggy clothes, jerseys, large chains, basketball shorts, sleeveless shirts and warm-up pants.
Starbuster’s, no longer open, had also posted a dress code prohibiting baggy clothes and pullover hoodies. Starbuster’s dress code said patrons must tuck necklaces in at all times and hats must be worn either straight forward or straight backward.
