DeKalb Police reported a “suspicious package” found late Sunday in an apartment complex was nonthreatening to residents.
After a resident at 408 N. Annie Glidden Road called police about a “bomb looking device” he/she found in the building, residents were evacuated from the area for about three hours, according to Aug. 29 NIU Safety Bulletin.
“It was precautionary measure,” said Steve Lekkas, DeKalb police commander of the patrol division.
Lekkas said after Kane County bomb squad x-rayed the device was declared fake.
The area is no longer under question.
