Dear transfer students

Dear transfer students,

Changing schools is scary. Here are a few things to hopefully make your first semester easier.

• Maps are your friend. Do not be afraid to use a map to find your classes – it could save you from being late to your first few classes. [What map? Is there an app which shows the location of buildings? You could include the location of the physical giant directories on campus. I know there’s one outside of the Holmes Student Center. or where to get a handheld map. Is there one in the free planners?]

• Make friends in classes – if you do not live in the dorms, this is the easiest way to meet people. [can you think of any way to make this more specific?]

• Go to sports events – it is a great way to get a taste of Huskie pride. [Upcoming games? apparently volleyball is tonight]

• Sign up for Emergency Alert notifications – it lets you know when things are happening on campus that you need to know about [what kind of things could happen? specify to crime and add info how you can do that. this information is in the to: freshmen one. you can just copy and paste the info for the most part.]

• Find a niche – there are so many clubs and organizations on campus to be a part of! [where do they sign up, what kind of clubs and orgs?]
