Huskies of DeKalb: Alexander Black

By Northern Star staff

“Four years ago, I had an awful breakup,” said Alexander Black, junior business administration major. “It was one of the most awful experiences of my life. I found out she was cheating on me while my father was in the ICU. To cope, I started stealing. Small things – food, shampoo, you know, things that could help my mother and I get by. When I finally got arrested I was mad that my only source of control was being taken away from me.  The court proceedings left me in debt, and in fear. It’s prevented me from getting jobs. After everything though, I’m glad it happened. I learned a lot about how to cope, and how others cope. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
