Women’s tennis junior Adey Osabuohien was named Mid-American Conference singles Player of the Week on Thursday, the first time she has won the award in her career.

Osabuohien is the first Huskie to win MAC Player of the Week this season. She went 2-0 in matches against Western Michigan University and the University at Buffalo last week, improving her personal record in the MAC to 5-1.

She has been No. 1 in singles for every match this season, compiling a record of 15-3. The junior also earned MAC Doubles Players of the Week with teammate sophomore Evelyn Youel earlier this season.

Women’s tennis was eliminated from postseason contention after losing 7-0 to Miami University on Friday.
