The Student Association will be sponsoring a Springfield lobbying event Wednesday during which the state budget impasse and funding of Monetary Award Program grants will be addressed.

A bus will be provided for students and departs at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Holmes Student Center and returns at 6 p.m. that day.

Attendees will be participating in a “pump up rally” at University of Illinois at Springfield, after which they will march from the Old State Capitol to the Illinois State Capitol in support of MAP grant funding.

Because the trip is open to all students, at least one hour of the bus ride will be used to train attendees about how to lobby.

Students are encouraged to wear business-casual attire. Lunch will not be provided.
