Pass/Fail: New website makes it easier to buy local; advising seminar cancelled

By Kaylyn Zielinski

Pass:

Buy Local DeKalb, a website set to go live in May, will let local farmers sell their products.

Buying groceries is an essential part of living off-campus and students need to take advantage of this website when it goes live.

Students can use the new website to find and purchase their groceries from local farmers instead of having to purchase it from chain stores such as Walmart.

Buying local will give students the opportunity to know where their groceries came from and who they came from.

Fail:

Ryan Pumroy, department of communication undergraduate program advisor, said he had set up a seminar to have students’ questions be answered. The seminar which was supposed to be held both Tuesday and Wednesday were cancelled.

While the seminar was a great idea, students did not take advantage of the opportunity.

Students can learn important information from their advisors, as they have worked with students to graduate.

In the future, students need to take the opportunities given to them to increase their knowledge about graduation and courses.
