Two comic book legends, Batman and Superman, come face-to-face for the ultimate showdown with an impressive cast.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” was released Friday and stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Henry Cavill as Superman. The two iconic superheroes go head-to-head to prove who is the alpha dog of Metropolis.

Director Zack Snyder has Batman and Superman team up with Wonder Woman to fight off Lex Luthor, played by Jesse Eisenberg, and Doomsday as they set out to destroy Metropolis. As a result, Batman and Superman have to set aside their differences to save the citizens of their beloved city.

This action-packed film is exhilarating and keeps you on your toes. The booming sounds of thunder and pouring rain paired with midnight shades of blue and black added to the suspense of the movie.

Snyder embraces this movie by taking it piece-by-piece, closely examining and perfecting each angle. One thing I admired about this movie was the special effects. For example, I like that Snyder made Batman have glow-in-the-dark green eyes with his improved bat suit. The fighting scenes between the superheroes were like a mix between Star Wars and World Wrestling Entertainment because they were both intense and interesting to watch.

Affleck was another big surprise. When news first spread that he was taking on the role of Batman in this movie, I didn’t know how I felt about it because I’m so used to seeing him in romantic comedies or dramas. However, he pleasantly surprised me. One thing I was looking forward to throughout this movie was Affleck’s ability to perfect Batman’s familiar deep voice, and he nailed it.

Affleck takes on this role with confidence, showing viewers and critics that he is capable of playing more than romantic or dramatic roles, such as Nick Dunne from “Gone Girl.” I can tell he put a lot of hard work into studying for this role in the film.

I also liked that Wonder Woman was included in this movie because it added a hint of girl power.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is a must-see because it is enjoyable, action-packed and full of surprises. Snyder brings an unlikely pair — Affleck and Cavill — to the big screen. Watching this movie is a tribute to comic book lovers and superhero fans everywhere.

Whether you’re Team Batman or Team Superman, this movie brings together two different worlds and makes them into one, making it enjoyable for all.
