NIU’s student email will be moving from Gmail to Office 365 on May 23, according to an NIU news release. 

The move, which started in 2014, will also provide NIU students with free Microsoft Office downloads as well as one terabyte of OneDrive for Business storage for all students. 

The Division of Information Technology will not be transferring Gmail or Google Apps data but support on how to export these will be provided, according to the news release. Gmail accounts will be available for data export, but not for sending and receiving emails until Dec. 16.
