The Student Association will collaborate with other offices to begin the Green Office Initiative.

The Green Office Initiative will help to make various offices more environmentally friendly throughout the NIU campus, according to an SA news release. SA Director of Environmental Affairs Stuart Nissenbuam and project coordinator Dan Kenneally will lead the project.

The Green Office Initiative is currently being funded by the Student Engagement fund, the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning and the NIU Green team, according to the news release.

Currently there are three levels of certification for the initiative, with gold being the highest followed by silver and bronze. The certifications are based on how environmentally friendly the office is. The Office of the President is at the gold certification level, according to the news release.
