The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry’s 2016 Seminar Series begins 4 p.m. today in LaTourette Hall, room 201.

Coffee will be available before the event at 3:30 in LaTourette Hall, Room 300. This event is part of a series continuing at 4 p.m. on Feb. 8, Mar. 21, April 18 and April 25.

The first speaker will be Mercouri G. Kanatzidis, department of chemistry professor at Northwestern University. The topic of discussion will be recent advances in lead-free perovskite chemistry and solar cells, according to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry’s website.

This week’s event will be hosted by graduate teaching assistant Timothy Perkins and Chong Zeng, department of chemistry and biochemistry professor.
