DeKalb seeks residents for Landmark Commission

DeKalb is looking for residents interested in serving as members of the Landmark Commission, according to a DeKalb news release.
The commission, created in 1977, was a volunteer group tasked with several jobs relating to historic preservation, according to the news release. The Landmark Commission has conducted surveys of historic buildings, designated local landmarks and worked as consultants for owners of historic properties, among other things.
Those interested in applying must live in DeKalb and have an interest in furthering historic preservation efforts, according to the news release.
Commissions are appointed by the mayor with City Council’s consent.
