DeKalb Community Unit School District #428 will provide free standardized vision, hearing, developmental and speech screenings for children aged newborn to preschool 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 17 at the Early Learning and Development Center, 1515 S. Fourth St., Door #31.

The screenings will be continued 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. March 18. The free screenings are open to children of DeKalb residents.

“The children will be doing some table projects and similar tests to compare them to other children their age,” said Nancy Miller, screening coordinator for Pre-K at DeKalb Community Unit School District #428. “We just want to see if they’re behind on their development or on track.”
