NIU center to collaborate with local towns on DeKalb vision plan
February 12, 2016
The Center for Governmental Studies is looking for interested towns to help shape a five-year economic plan for DeKalb County, according to an NIU news release.
The center is working with DeKalb County’s Government and four other municipalities to develop a five-year plan that will help with marketing and investments, and that will guide the planning of DeKalb County, according to the news release.
The Center for Governmental Studies will interview local officials, employees, business leaders, students and residents, and town hall meetings to gain a better understanding of DeKalb County’s economic development assets and current opportunities at the community level.
The center held two economic development visioning summits last November for the public and private sectors, and invited every municipality in DeKalb County to assist in this project, according to the news release.
