Student Dietetic Association to hold Empty Bowls event
February 29, 2016
The Student Dietetic Association will hold an event called Empty Bowls on April 13 in Adams Hall, Chandelier Room.
The event is held to spread awareness about food insecurity and to raise money for local nonprofit organizations that aid food security. The event will simulate a soup kitchen and proceeds raised from the event will go to the Huskies Student Food Pantry and Hope Haven, said Sarah Stendebach, Student Dietetic Association member.
Reservations can be made by emailing [email protected] with a name, number of guests and preferred seating time. Seating times are at 4:30 and 6 p.m. Walk-ins will also be accepted.
The Student Dietetic Association is a non-profit organization ran by NIU students studying nutrition, according to the College of Health and Human Science’s website.
