One Direction’s new music video for “History” was released Tuesday – and it definitely hit me in the feels.

After competing in Simon Cowell’s the “X Factor” during its seventh season in 2010, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, who left the band in March, came together to make the band we all know and love today.

Since then, the boys have released five studio albums: Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013), Four (2014) and Made in the A.M. in November.

One Direction has combined their beautiful vocals with catchy and relatable songs for the past five years, causing girls worldwide to swoon over their British accents and handsome faces. Unfortunately, the band announced a hiatus back in August, leaving Directioners with broken hearts and one last music video.

“History” starts off with a black and white throwback of the boys on“X Factor” and continues with a montage of the boys’ life on tour, their adventures and music video shenanigans. Admittedly, I am not a die-hard Directioner, but I do enjoy listening to their music from time to time. I like that they sing about situations teens and young adults can relate to. The moment I saw their “X Factor” footage, I knew the video would be a tear-jerker.

“History” makes for the perfect goodbye to One Direction fans and listeners alike. The song and video will have people remembering the boys’ golden years with claps and guitars, as well as a look back at the past five years.
