The Student Association has begun the next step in its #NoShameCampaign by promoting the hashtag on social media.

The SA’s #NoShameCampaign aims to eliminate the negative stigma attached to seeking mental health counseling, according to a Jan. 22 Northern Star article. The SA has begun to accept students’ personal stories about their struggle with mental health issues.

The stories are being shared on the SA’s Facebook page in an effort to inform students as well as humanize those who live with mental health issues, said SA President Nathan Lupstein at Sunday’s SA Senate meeting. Ari Owens, director of Public Affairs, and an anonymous student have already shared their stories. Both can be found on the SA’s Facebook page.

Those who wish to share their experience may email their story along with a picture to [email protected]. If they wish to remain anonymous, a picture is not required.
