Former NIU student Joseph Graves, 19, was shot to death Friday in Chicago.

Graves was shot in the head and pronounced dead on the scene. Graves was found unresponsive in a car south of Emerald Avenue in Washington Heights on Chicago’s South Side, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Graves was last enrolled at NIU in spring 2015, but has not attended or graduated from the university since last spring said NIU Spokesman Joe King.
