Shawun Lurry named to All-American first team by FWAA

Sophomore cornerback Shawun Lurry returns an interception in a game against Central Michigan on Oct. 3. Lurry was named to the 2015 Autonation Football Writers Association of America All-America First Team on Monday.

Sophomore Cornerback Shawun Lurry was named to the 2015 Autonation Football Writers Association of America All-America First Team on Monday.

The First Team is a group of 26 individuals, of which Lurry is the only representative of NIU and the Mid-American Conference.

Lurry was also named to the 2015 Associated Press All-America Third Team on Thursday.

The cornerback recorded nine interceptions this season, which is good for second place on the Huskies’ single season interception list. He also holds the record for interception yards with 273.
