November 23, 2015
DeKalb Mayor John Rey will seek to confirm the appointment of a 7th ward alderman nominee today at a City Council meeting.
Rey nominated Anthony Faivre to fill the spot of recently-resigned Monica O’Leary as 7th Ward Alderman for the City of DeKalb. O’Leary resigned on Oct. 2, according to an Oct. 15 Northern Star article.
Faivre served in the U.S. Navy for four years, has 30 years of experience in manufacturing and is a deacon at his church, according to the City of DeKalb news release.
Faivre graduated from NIU with a degree in manufacturing engineering technology in 1997, according to his resume posted in today’s City Council agenda. In a message to Rey, Faivre said he has lived in DeKalb since 1990.
“I have a history of cost savings and process improvement that I feel would be an asset to this position,” Faivre said in a message to Rey, according to today’s City Council agenda.
If the council approves Faivre’s nomination today, Faivre will serve as alderman until the municipal election of 2017 or until his successor qualifies and takes office, according to today’s City Council agenda.
Faivre’s appointment will go into effect at the Dec. 14 City Council meeting, if approved today.
