The DeKalb Fire Department and National Fire Protection Association are working to ensure that every resident in DeKalb has a working smoke detector.

The Office of the State Fire Marshall has provided the DeKalb Fire Department with smoke detectors for distribution and installation to prepare for Fire Prevention Week, which starts Monday.

Contact the DeKalb Fire Department at 815-748-8460 for a working smoke detector, free of charge.

Visit the National Fire Protection Association’s website at bit.ly/1M2clsp and bit.ly/1M2ckVd for more information on smoke alarms and this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign.
