Rich Homie Quan, Hoodie Allen to headline Homecoming concert
October 14, 2015
Students can see hip-hop artist Rich Homie Quan and rapper Hoodie Allen at NIU’s 2015 Homecoming concert.
The theme for the homecoming concert, Huskies Light the Night, will tie in with the general homecoming theme, Huskies Light the Way, said Rainn Darring Jr., president of Campus Activities Board. The concert is scheduled for Oct. 24 at the Convocation Center.
It has been nine years since students have been able to enjoy a homecoming concert at the convocation center, Darring said. The last headlining celebrity to perform at the Convo for a homecoming concert was hip-hop artist Chingy in 2006, Darring said.
“I’m extremely excited because we’ve had concerts in the past, but this is our first homecoming concert since like 2006,” Darring said.
Doors open at 7 p.m., the concert starts at 8 p.m., and the concert will end around 11:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for the first 500 NIU students and must be bought at the Convocation Center box office, limited two a person. After the first 500 tickets are sold they will cost $25 for NIU students and $32 for the general public.
Tickets are available at the Convocation Center Box Office, Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, or by phone at 800-745-3000, according to the news release.
