2 arrested in relation to shooting

Police have arrested two people in relation to a shooting that occurred last month. 

Tristen Dortch, 24, of Elgin, faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery, and Maurice Garner, 18, of Elgin, faces charges of obstructing justice. The charges are in relation to an incident in which an individual shot two males during a party at 3:16 a.m. Sept. 6 at 901 Regent Drive.The shooter fled the scene.

The victims, who did not receive life-threatening injuries, were transported to Kishwaukee Hospital, and were later released, according to a DeKalb Police Department news release. 

A third person facing charges in relation to the shooting has not been arrested. Pervis Bonds, 23, of Elgin, has been charged with obstruction of justice and is wanted by police. 

The investigation into the shooting continues, according to DeKalb police.
