Council to review 2016 budget form
October 12, 2015
City Council will review a Fiscal Year 2016 budget form to submit for an award at its regular meeting today.
DeKalb is utilizing the Government Finance Officers Association budgeting model to pursue the association’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, according to today’s agenda.
The Government Finance Officers Association’s award program was created in 1984 to help local governments prepare budget documents.
DeKalb must submit the budget form 90 days after the budget is adopted to be reviewed for proficiency and considered for the award. The budget form will be reviewed by three judges, who will determine if the budget form is not proficient, proficient or outstanding in four categories.
The award is given to those who receive a proficient or outstanding from at least two of the three judges in each of the four categories, according to today’s City Council agenda.
