An attempted robbery was reported to have occurred around 8:20 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of Stadium Drive, near Graham and Gabel halls, according to an NIU safety bulletin.

The victim said she was preparing to cross the street when a male suspect grabbed her purse, and after an altercation, was unsuccessful in taking the purse, according to the safety bulletin. The suspect is described as a 6 foot, 180-200 pound black male wearing a black hoodie with gray drawstrings and with a birthmark or discoloration on his left hand, according to the safety bulletin.
