Shooting leaves two injured

Two males were shot by an individual, who fled the scene, at 3:16 a.m. Sunday at 901 Regent Drive, according to an NIU Police safety bulletin Sunday.

The two victims were conscious and taken to the hospital. The suspect was described as a 5’6” African American male with dreadlock hair, wearing a white T-Shirt and jeans, according to the safety bulletin.

Cmdr. Robert Redel did not respond to a request for comment.

There were 39 cases of shots being fired in 2014, 47 in 2013 and 38 in 2012, according to the 2014 DeKalb Police Department Annual Report.
