John Smith and the Shananigans Big Band will release a CD of ballroom dance hits for the 10th annual Let’s Dance Big Band Weekend.

The event, which will run from July 17-19 in the Holmes Student Center, Duke Ellington Ballroom, will feature performances from bands including the Alicia Hamilton Orchestra and the Dick Elliot Orchestra, according to a Just Make It Happen news release. Waltz, foxtrot, swing and Latin dance lessons will be provided on all three days.

Just Make It Happen is a non-profit organization that creates events in DeKalb and Sycamore to promote music and dancing.
