NIU football: Hallmon, Senior transfer from NIU
April 30, 2015
Football freshmen Deion Hallmon and David Senior announced Wednesday on Twitter they’ll be transferring from NIU.
Hallmon and Senior redshirted in 2014 after being two of the bigger-name recruits in the Huskies’ 2014 signing class. They each have four years of athletic eligibility remaining.
Hallmon, from Weston, Fla., was rated as a three-star recruit by ESPN. He had offers from Wisconsin, Nebraska, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Miami, UCLA and South Carolina, among others.
Senior, from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was also rated as a three-star recruit by ESPN. In addition to NIU, he had offers from Wisconsin, Washington State and Temple.
Neither Hallmon nor Senoir saw playing time for the Huskies in 2014. While Hallmon redshirted, three true freshmen saw action in the secondary: Shawun Lurry, Mayomi Olootu and Albert Smalls. Two true freshman wide receivers – Ezra Saffold and Christian Blake – got playing time in 2014 as Senior redshirted.
