Senior Latesha Bigby was named MAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career, the conference announced Tuesday.

Bigby is coming off a weekend in which she won the heptathlon with a school record 5,110 points at the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships. It was the first heptathlon of the spring season for Bigby.

In winning the pentathlon Bigby set personal bests in shot put (10.07 meters), javelin (30.35 meters) and high jump (1.69 meters). Bigby finished in the top three of the seven heptathlon events and won three events: 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash and 800-meter run.
