Women’s tennis can secure a berth in the MAC Championships for the first time since 2012 with a pair of wins this weekend.

The Huskies (11-7, 2-4 MAC) take on the Akron Zips (10-11, 2-5 MAC) 1 p.m. Friday and the Buffalo Bulls (6-10, 2-4 MAC) 1 p.m. Saturday in Akron, Ohio.

The Huskies are sixth out of nine MAC teams. The top six teams make the MAC Championships, which go from April 24-26 in Oxford, Ohio.

The Huskies’ easiest path is to win both games. If they go 1-1 they will need tiebreakers to go their way. An 0-2 weekend will keep them out of the postseason.
