Men’s tennis: Huskies look to come out on top of MAC for regular season with match against Buffalo

Men’s tennis will play its final regular season game this weekend.

The Huskies (17-5, 3-1 MAC) will face the Bulls (9-9, 1-2 MAC) 11 a.m. Sunday in Buffalo, N.Y. The Huskies would be guaranteed to come out on top of the MAC for the regular season for the second-straight season if they win Sunday.

“I think it will be like all the other MAC games we have played — extremely tough from start to finish,” said head coach Patrick Fisher. “Buffalo is an excellent team; they were picked to finish ahead of us this year.

“If we win it will show that we will be the team to beat, which will make trying to win the MAC tournament tougher, to be honest.”

After this game the Huskies’ focus will shift to the MAC Championships, which will be April 24-25 in DeKalb.

“I know our young team is really excited to play in the tournament, and we will have plenty of chances to win it,” Fisher said. “We will need to play our best and have a little luck go our way. Tournament play is like that – you need to play your best and have some lucky breaks go your way.”
