TAILS cancels obedience classes to prevent canine influenza spread
April 24, 2015
TAILS Humane Society of DeKalb has canceled all obedience classes to prevent canine influenza from spreading to DeKalb.
A strain of canine influenza has affected more than 1,000 dogs throughout Chicago, according to a DeKalb County Health Department news release. Infected dogs have a soft, moist cough or dry cough, high fever, loss of appetite, nasal discharge, and lethargy, according to the DeKalb County Health Department.
TAILS will still allow people to adopt pets but obedience classes will remain canceled until further notice.
