Friends of NIU Libraries will hold the Annual Meeting and Ice Cream Social on April 30 at Founders Memorial Library.

Friends of the NIU Libraries is an organization that raises money for books, manuscripts and electronic resources that are not in the library’s regular budget.

There will be homemade hot fudge and frozen custard from Ollie’s Frozen Custard 3-5 p.m. on the library’s fourth floor, according to an NIU news release. This event is free and open to the public.

This is the first time the event will be held during the school year and not during he summer, said Lynne Thomas, head of Rare Books Special Collections and faculty liaison for Friends of NIU Libraries.

“I’m excited because we do this every year, and so we’re just glad to have the opportunity to get people together over frozen custard from Ollie’s,” Thomas said.
