Anthony Johnson, men’s basketball redshirt senior guard, was named to the Academic All-MAC Team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Johson averaged 10.8 points (23rd in MAC) and 2.1 rebounds per game in his lone season with the Huskies after tranferring from Purdue. He shot 43.4 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and 70.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Johnson is a communications major with a 3.20 GPA.

The Chicago native is the Huskies’ first Academic All-MAC honoree since Bryan Hall in 2010-11.
