Michael Firman of the Chicago Koto Group plays the shakuhachi, a Japanese flute, Tuesday at Altgeld Hall. The group’s performance celebrated the NIU Art Museum’s two Japanese-themed exhibits: Traditions Transfigured: The Noh Masks of Bidou Yamaguchi and Amerimanga! Convention and Expression. The exhibits will be on display until May 22.
