Battle of the Bands is 5 p.m. March 28 in the Holmes Student Center, Duke Ellington Ballroom.

Doors open at 4 p.m. The Battle of the Bands is a showcase of local bands to support student talent. The competition will feature hardcore metal and rock bands, indie musicians and hip hop and rap artists.

“Battle of the Bands is a competition to see who the best band is in the area,” said Kimberly Manno, Holmes Student Center planner.

Every band has to have at least one NIU student and all genres of music are allowed to perform, Manno said.
