Men’s basketball senior Aaron Armstead was named MAC West Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Armstead averaged 13 points per game in the Huskies’ upsets of the Toledo Rockets on the road Wednesday and Central Michigan Chippewas at home Saturday. He shot 68.8 percent (11-16) from the field, including 57.1 percent (4-7) from beyond the 3-point line.

This is Armstead’s first weekly conference honor. The last Huskie to be named MAC West Player of the Week was Dontel Highsmith on Dec. 23, 2013.

Armstead and the four other senior Huskies will be recognized on Senior Night — 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Convocation Center — in NIU’s final home regular season game.
