Women’s basketball senior Amanda Corral and freshman Kelly Smith garnered MAC season honors, the conference announced today.
Corral was named to the All-MAC First Team and Smith was named to the MAC’s All-Freshman Team. Corral is the first player since Stephanie Raymond (2006-07) to be named to the All-MAC First Team, and Smith is the first Huskie since Raymond (2003-04) to make the All-Freshman team.
Corral averaged a team-high 16.4 points per game and chipped in 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Her scoring average ranks fourth in the MAC while her 3-point percentage (.422) leads the conference. Corral picked up her only other MAC season honor last year when she made the All-MAC Third Team, averaging 13.5 points per game.
Smith started for the injury-riddled Huskies from the get-go, playing in all 28 games and starting in 14. She averaged nine points (third-best among freshmen) and 4.7 rebounds per game.
